Allora oggi . . . Californians have nothing on the Italians when it comes to the rolling stop a.k.a. California stop.  In our California-centric way we believe that Californians invented the rolling stop.  Ohh nooo, as with most things in life, the Italians take every day events and elevate them into an art form.  When it comes to stop signs, the Italians don’t even pretend to slow down – oh yeah they slow enough to make the turn and that’s it!  Luckily for me a Canadian taught me “palm power”.  When I step out into the crosswalk I extend my arm horizontally (parallel to the ground) and create a 90-degree angle with my wrist as I direct the palm of my hand toward the car.  I feel as if I have pedestrian super powers with this “palm power” technique.  As I practiced palm power yesterday, I came across these Italian classics.  Restate sintonizzati . . .
