Allora oggi, I am baaack . . . yes, it is true, I have returned to Siena for two weeks of Italian language immersion AND shopping.  Trying out a new school in Siena, one that has social work internships for students with functional Italian language skills.  Since that’s NOT me, a student with functional Italian language skills, I’ll be attending classes all morning Monday through Friday with sporadic episodes of shopping.

Since I last posted on Allora Oggi, I traded in my Harley Davidson for a Vespa scooter, found an Italian language teacher in Fresno (for only three months while he visited his girlfriend), discovered Italian soap operas which I follow online, and signed up for an online Italian language class via Oregon State University . . . a proposito I LOVE the internet.  My Italian is only slightly improved since I last visited Siena but I had a dream (a real one, the kind you have during REM sleep) awhile back where I dreamt that if I returned to study, that somehow I would experience a linguistic break through – periodic updates to follow.  At this point, a longer visit is out of the question, seeing how it’s the middle of the semester and I had to cover two classes during my brief absence.  After my last visit to Italia, when I declared to never visit again during the height of tourist season, leaves me with a short visit scheduled around a mid-semester holiday.  Restate sintonizzati . . .
